National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (NBAIR), formerly National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Insects (NBAII) is located in Bangalore. Parent Organization: Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Evolution: Originated from the Commonwealth Institute of Biological Control (CIBC) in 1957. Became the Project Directorate of Biological Control in 1993. Renamed as NBAII in the XIth Five-Year Plan. Upgraded to NBAIR in the XIIth Five-Year Plan.
