🌾 ICAR EFC - Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with Genome Editing Tools
From drought‑tolerant rice to healthier oils, genome editing is revolutionizing farming. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) proposes a project on “Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools” for fast tracking crop varieties with higher yield, better nutrition, and climate resilience—reducing agrochemical use and ensuring food security. With 178 targeted genes across 24 crops and 4 insect pests, and collaboration among 24 ICAR institutes in 16 states, we combine cutting‑edge science with nationwide expertise to deliver impact from lab to field.
